Beginner skiers can now use the new refurbished slope. Snow will be guaranteed thanks to new generation non polluting snow  cannons, provided sub-zero temperatures prevail. Little children have their own supervised skiing ground in the village.

Les Estables, an ideal place for beginners

Whatever the season there is always something to do in Les Estables : hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, paragliding, snowkiting, sled dogs riding, hiking with a donkey, mountain biking, rock climbing, tree climbing in the nearby adventure park, etc…

Various events punctuate the village life : in January there’s the nocturnal snowshoeing outing followed by a nice and hot chestnut soup in the village hall, the sled dogs championships in February, the car boot sale and the evening soup on the second Sunday in August, the 21st August market and various events around the Fin Gras, the famous local beef from February to June. There is the horn music festival in the nearby village of Le Monastier sur Gazeille, where R.L. Stevenson left from on his travel across the Cévennes with a donkey.

You can visit the church there, the farm of the Perrel Borthers in Moudeyres and the House of Fin Gras in Chaudeyrolles. Le Puy en Velay, start of Compostella’s Way is only ½ hour away (Abbey, Renaissance Festival in September, etc…)
